Clients are made aware at point of purchase about our wig recycling programme.  We encourage them to send us the old hair piece when finished with for us to separate those that are going to be recycled and those that are going to waste.  We are working with a waste company, Terracycle, who provide us with a box and collect when full.

If the returned wig can be reused, then we wash and style and offer it to clients for £10 with that money going to the charity of St David’s Hospice Newport (our chosen charity).

At consultation with the patient if their chosen style is also available in our wig bank then they will then be given the opportunity to choose either the new or recycled wig.  If recycled wig is their choice, then this is a saving to the health service as no charge will be made.
